Debated back and forth on so many models and choices but in the end, chose the Britax B-Safe Elite. Very plush, nice fabrics and while it does hold our little guy snug, he doesn't seem to mind. Just a heads up, the seat is HEAVY. It is probably twice as heavy as your average car seat--- it's all about safety and protection. We were involved in the unthinkable and our little guy walked away with out a scratch. Car, Totaled. Had to use the jaws of life to get me and my wife out. All I can say is there is no way we could put a price on the safety of our baby and between the car and this seat, his life was saved. However, the other 1 star reviews are right. This thing is NARROW. THERE IS NO WAY A 35POUND BABY can actually fit in here. Ours is about 16 pounds now and we are having to buy a new seat. It was overwhelming and disappointing. After reading more reviews than I can even count, on every brand possible, I decided on this brand. It’s the closest to what I wanted and came in the cowmooflage print. Once I got the car seat I was a bit disappointed that the head support cannot be removed (just the material covering it can be removed for washing) as I’m afraid it won’t allow me to use it for as long as I intend to given that I went with a 35lb and 32” car seat but I was able to put a large 13 month old in it and my confidence in the seat was rediscovered. I love the material in this seat—it’s so soft and will keep my little one comfortable; I also love the canopy—it’s the smoothest most durable canopy I’ve ever come across. This seat is a bit heavy but it is made well and I feel my baby will be as safe as can be in this seat when we need to go places. The car seat base is the best one I’ve ever tried and now used. Installation was a breeze, even at 7 months pregnant, and the latch system is undeniably the best version on the market. I don’t see why every seat doesn’t come with this LATCH system. Britax def stepped it up with this one. It may be a little snugger for a chunky babe, but I don't feel like it's too slim. Any car seat is going to be heavy and hot, so I fully expected that. He doesn't over heat in it and I don't mind the weight of it, just think about an arm work out without going to the gym! This was the car seat I ended up choosing as her newborn car seat. We followed the directions and even watched videos online of how to install it. We thought we did it perfectly. Luckily, when she was a few weeks old we went to a CHP car seat technician check and he explained that he sees a lot of people make the same error we did when installing this specific seat. He said we had to kneel on top of the base and put as much weight possible on the base and then pull on the straps to keep it as tight as possible. There was a huge difference in his installation vs ours. I’m so thankful we never got in an accident before taking it to the tech to check our installation. Maybe this is super known by other parents but this was our first and we had no idea! We used it for about 3 months before she started getting fussy in the car seat. I couldn’t figure out what the problem was. The car seat is super narrow and she hated being squished in it. We tried moving her to the Britax Click Tight we had in our other car and she was totally fine. She didn’t fuss at all. She’s a big baby for her age but she outgrew it by the time she was 14 or 15 pounds.
